Twin Flames
Multi-award winning, chart-topping Indigenous artists Twin Flames been nominated for 25 awards (including two Canadian Folk Music Award wins, and three Native American Music Award wins), two # 1 hits on the Indigenous Music Countdown’s Top 40, they've played more than 1000+ shows throughout Canada, Greenland, the United States, Australia and France, were selected as artist-in-residence for the 2019 Folk Alliance International conference, and partnered with UNESCO to write the official song celebrating the International Year of Indigenous Languages. Their prior release ‘Human’ was chosen as part of CBC’s music class challenge 2019. Their music video for Broke Down ’Ski’Tuuq was the first Inuttitut music video to be featured on MuchMusic.
Most recently, Twin Flames set the world on fire with two back-to-back singles released internationally, with music reviewers, streaming curators and radio programmers scrambling non-stop to feature both ‘Battlefields’ and their nothing less than magical rendition of 'Grace Too', a tribute to Canadian legend Gord Downie, of Tragically Hip, sung in both English and Inuttitut.
Hollywood Digest rightly predicted that Twin Flames would “… win over a lot of hearts within the indie rock radio crowd…" which they most certainly have. As of 2021, Twin Flames can now be heard on radio stations in France, Belgium, Brazil, the U.S. and the U.K., Italy, Australia, Uganda, Namibia, the Virgin Islands, Switzerland, Germany, Israel and, of course, throughout Canada at Stingray Radio (both 'Canadian Indie' and 'Adult Alternative' playlists), CBC radio and WorldBeat Canada, just to name a few.
Some playlist adds of note have included InSpot Music, Lost Song, Mahogany, Skriber, Tastune, Le Labo, TheDrunkenCoconut, Boulimique De Musique and many more, while the media simply gushed:
